Ice Cream on the House is more than a frozen treat—it's a heartfelt expression of community care and a symbolic act of free speech. Rooted in the belief that food is a human right, our mission is to deliver joy, nourishment, and solidarity to children and families facing poverty and homelessness. By giving away ice cream, we use expressive conduct—protected under the First Amendment—to communicate a powerful message: that kindness is transformative, dignity is non-negotiable, and hunger should never be ignored in a society of plenty.
Through this initiative, we challenge the norms that reduce charity to bureaucracy. Each scoop handed out is a public, performative act meant to provoke thought, inspire generosity, and assert that the well-being of our neighbors must be a collective priority. Ice Cream on the House is our declaration that compassion can—and should—be loud.

In the spring of 2025, a simple moment sparked something extraordinary. While buying my daughter an ice cream from a local vendor, she overheard the price and innocently said, "Daddy, ice cream should be free.” That small sentence lingered in my mind for days, stirring a question—why shouldn’t it be free?
And so, Ice Cream on the House was born.
Ice cream has been a thread running through my life since I was 15, when my father retired from the Air Force and bought an ice cream truck—not just as a business, but as a way to spend time with me and teach me the value of hard work. Years later, with children of my own, I carried on the tradition, owning and operating several ice cream vending trucks, each more whimsical and nostalgic than the last.
Now, my journey has come full circle. These days, I drive a 1947 Cushman Package Kar, not to sell ice cream, but to give it away. Spreading joy, creating memories, and bringing smiles the way ice cream always has.
Because some things, like kindness and ice cream, really should be free.
